A DIFFERENT LIFE

　

Happy New Year to one and all!!!! Oh so very special this year feels, probably because it’s the start of a new decade in this millennium or maybe because I went in with no real expectations except to enjoy the moment! The year ended with a red moon staring me in the face in Florida while I was there on vacay and for the pinning of my goddaughter who is officially a nurse (as soon as she past boards anyway). Congrats Adri!!!

You know I think about where I am and others I know are in their lives at this moment and I ponder what is the biggest concern or need right now for us! Is it really jobs, a better way of life, a guaranteed future for the children. What really drives us to keep it going day after day and dare to believe it can and will get better.

DONT GET ALL TIED UP

Well I for one believes it will get better and it starts with us! And most can be done and not cost you a penny, well almost. Now I’m not saying that if you aren’t used to rigid discipline to restrict yourself to some unrealistic way of life. Ultimately you will drop out, feel like a failure and sit around in August waiting for the holidays and then another new year to start this all over again. But since it is a fact that if you keep doing what you’re doing , you’ll keep getting what you got, I say make simple changes, like the following:

ATTEND LIFE IMPROVEMENT CLASSES OR SEMINARS

Attending a “Rich Dad Poor Dad” seminar or two. Or some other self improvement type seminars that move through your city or town. These are often times free or nominal. The reason is that they want to encourage to spend at their seminars. I feel if you’re bright and a good note taker you will do fine without spending hundreds on something that you cant use or afford at the moment. I highly recommend the exposure however. And lets not forget nieghborhood classes offered for free at various centers and Learning Annex classes as well!

  

READ A BOOK

   Another thing that’s totally free is a book! Or books, lots of books that teach and uplift! I amposting a list at the bottom of this post. My take on these books in particular is that at the age of thirty one should have read at least ten of these books!!! These are tried and tested, some through the ages, some more recent but all with a message to inspire and frankly improve well being and if nothing else your grammar skills.

EXCERSISE

Easier still is getting up off our asses and exercising! Walking in our neighborhood, walking up and down the stairs. walking from the furthest parking spot in the lot, moving just because you can, there are so many who cannot!!!! So be thankful, get out, and move!

WE CAN CONNECT

Wii, Kinnect all wonderful great gadgets, new fun trendy! Ive noticed a serious miscommunication with individuals. No one looks anyone in the eye anymore. Heads held down, fingers to a pad as only Star Trek could predict! I challenge you get your crew to make a dish and meet at each others house once a month and play board games. Potlucks, house parties, Oh yeah! We Connect!!!!

CHANGE YOUR LOOKS

Change your looks! Add a animal print to your wardrobe. If you’re scared, start small with a scarf or a purse! Add heels, or add flats, add prints if you tend to be more subdued! There are no

rules only what brings you a smile!!!! New Yorkers get to Forever 21! For those not so lucky check them on line! They’re great for trendy, wear one time pieces and a great way to go Low-Hi in fashion! Add dresses if you wear pants, add pants if you tend to wear dresses!!! In other words take a leap in your closet and get FRESH!!!

RENEW THE HOME

Get the home renewed by replacing those old half burnt candles and old potpourri. The sticks the air fresheners, the scented crystals! Get all fresh and new and dust those areas!!! OK am I getting to personal here?! Its ok dust anyway! Oh and Christmas and all traces of Hanukah should be carefully packed away!

RUNAWAY RUNAWAY

Take your Tax refund before you have a chance to take it and pay even one bill and buy a vacation package! You were getting along fine without that money. Do not even acknowledge the fact that it is on its way. You see last year you probably took it and paid some obsure thing off or paid down on a car you now owe on but either way, hindsight will tell you that what you probably did not do in the past year was take time to breathe! STOP! Its your time!

A renewal of spirit guarantees a blossoming of new ideas the likes of which you’ve never seen in your life!

BE NICE

Treat others the way you would really like to be treated!!!! Like for real this time make an effort to be nice just for the heck of it! When you see someone that you can reach out to do it without any thought of compensation! Along this theme think about a cause that you care about! Yeah, you got one, you probably just haven’t thought about it! Give back because you can. The Ted Williams story should have inspired us all to do this! And the world becomes a better place from each ones small effort!

ITS TIME

So I guess what I’m really challenging you as well as myself to do is shake things up a bit and see what happens. Make a difference in your life for a different life!!!
